Minted Design Challenge: Kids' Birthday Party Invitation
This past March, Minted hosted it's annual Kids' Birthday Party Invitation challenge, a long awaited event for me. Last year, while looking for birthday invitations for Luke, my sweet toddler, I came across Minted for the very first time. It was such an eye opener to find out about a company that promotes and supports art so magnificently through competitive design challenges, impeccable customer service, fierce artist promotion and gorgeous packaging. Long story short, it took me a couple of months to actually enter my very first Minted challenge and now, after participating in 20 of them and winning 5 Editor's Picks, let's just say it has been a wonderful ride.
For this specific challenge, I was very much inspired by Luke, his favorite toys and little adventures. He truly has been a big contributor to my ever growing love for art, in all its shapes and forms. And to tell you the truth, working on the design of these invitations was challenging mostly because of time constraints and pure exhaustion (working on lots of client projects and on opening my own online store). But to see the final product after a whole process of exploration, concept ideation, sketching and vector illustration has been a rewarding journey. To top it all, I found out yesterday that two of my designs won Editor's Pick awards and will be sold exclusively at Minted in a few weeks.
Without further ado, here are some of the designs I submitted for this fantastic challenge.
